BIOMATERIAL FOR OSTEOSYNTHESIS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biomaterial for the manufacture of osteosynthesis articles with dynamic mechanical properties analogous to calcified tissue.

SOLUTION: A biomaterial is characterized by including a semi-aromatic polyamide matrix and at least one reinforcing means. Preferably the reinforcing means possesses a form of particles with needle-like and/or flake-like shapes with a dimension of between 10 nm and 100 μm, or a fibrous form with an L/d shape factor greater than 10.
