PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit motion artifacts to be restrained by reducing image blurs while correcting geometric distortions. SOLUTION: The distortion correction method during magnetic resonance imaging is intended for distortion correction and has the step of collecting K spatial data in a plurality of read encoding directions in which the number of sampling points is smaller than a total number of sampling points in a phase encoding line due to concentration in a phase encoding line in a low frequency area and of superimposing a visibility angle inclination compensation gradient on the axis of a slice selection gradient, and the step of combining the K spatial data collected in the directions to convert to a final image.
