PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic scanning radar device having high robustness, capable of estimating accurately the number of incoming waves, when estimating an incoming wave direction by estimating the incoming wave by using eigenvalue decomposition such as MUSIC method or Esprit method. SOLUTION: This electronic scanning radar device has a transmitting unit for transmitting a transmission wave, a receiving unit comprising a plurality of antennas for receiving an incoming wave from a target, a beat signal generating unit for generating a beat signal from the transmission wave and the reflected wave, a frequency decomposing unit for calculating complex number data from the beat signal, a peak detecting unit for detecting a target from an intensity value of each beat frequency, a correlation matrix calculating unit for calculating a correlation matrix respectively from the complex number data on a detected beat frequency wherein the target from each antenna is detected, an eigenvalue calculation unit for calculating the eigenvalue from the correlation matrix, a comparison part for comparing a normalized eigenvalue with a set threshold, and a determination unit for determining the number exceeding the threshold as the number of incoming waves relative to the eigenvalue of the beat frequency wherein the target is detected.
