PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone device capable of noticing immediately a slave unit forgotten at somewhere and capable of facilitating response by response person through a slave unit. SOLUTION: The telephone device comprises a master unit 20 connected to a public communication line 1 and a slave unit 30 connected to the master unit 20 through radio while being connected to the public communication line 1 through the master unit 20, wherein the telephone device goes off ring tone when call is received through the public communication line 1. The telephone device is further provided with a charger 30a which charges the slave unit 30 and a detecting unit 38 for detecting the slave unit 30. When it is detected through the detecting unit 38 that the charger 30a is not equipped with the slave unit 30, ring tone of master unit 20 or slave unit 30 is changed or the number of ring tone is changed.
