PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical source driver superior in versatility, an optical scanner performing high density optical scanning without incurring a high cost, and an image forming apparatus forming a high quality image without incurring a higher cost. SOLUTION: A write control circuit has: a first data switching circuit 219a for setting a correspondence relation between signals (S2181to S21816) from respective line buffers and input signals (In1 to In16) of a delay circuit group 219b from a signal Ssw1 from a CPU210; and a second data switching circuit 219d for setting a correspondence relation between output signals (Out1 to Out16) of the delay circuit group 219b and drive signals (Dr1 to Dr16) from a signal Ssw2 from the CPU210. A plurality of emission sections are properly driven thereby, even if a main scanning direction in the optical scanner and an arrangement of a plurality of optical spots are any of CASE-1 to CASE-4.
