It is possible to detect a position of a rotor in the axial direction without using a sensor. That is, provided is a method for detecting a position of a motor including a rotor (3) and a stator (2) on which armature windings of a plurality of phases are wound. A position detection coil (5) is arranged on one end face of a stator core (21) in the axial direction so as to detect an induced voltage in a coil (5) for detecting the position. The position of the rotor (3) is detected according to the detection result.
