Provided is an automotive carpet which has the excellent ability to trap volatile organic substances including aldehydes. The automotive carpet comprises: a base comprising a felt layer and a resin layer which is impermeable or sparingly permeable to air and has been placed on or bonded to the felt layer; and a skin placed on or bonded to the base. The carpet is characterized in that a scavenger for volatile organic substances has been incorporated in, applied to, or sprayed over the underside of the felt layer as a component of the base.
