<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device making a high-performance display. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 100 comprises a first substrate 200 including a reflecting layer 220r provided in a reflecting region R, and a first alignment layer 230; a second substrate 250 including a color filter layer 262 provided in both a transmission region T and the reflecting region R, and a second alignment layer 280; a liquid crystal layer 300 provided between the first alignment layer 230 and the second alignment layer 280; a first alignment maintaining layer 410 provided between the first alignment layer 230 and the liquid crystal layer 300; and a second alignment maintaining layer 420 provided between the second alignment layer 280 and the liquid crystal layer 300.
