PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a sealing panel in which an easily evaporating component of a sealing material itself or moisture and impure gas or the like contained in the sealing material which are discharged into a chamber after coating the sealing material can be reduced, and to provide a method of manufacturing a plasma display.

SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a sealing material includes a coating process in which a sealing material consisting of an ultraviolet curing resin is coated on an opposed surface to a front substrate of a rear substrate and also a degassing process in which, in advance of the coating process, the sealing material is heated for a prescribed time under a reduced pressure atmosphere.
