PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authority information management apparatus having higher convenience as compared with an apparatus for setting new authority information and immediately invalidating old authority information when a change is generated in use authority to be set in a user and having higher safety as compared with an apparatus for continuing a state that the old authority information is valid without any restriction. SOLUTION: In the authority information management apparatus, both of old authority information and new authority information are stored in relation to a target user as authority information indicating use authority of the target user for an information processing apparatus, start of use of the information processing apparatus by the target user based on the new authority information is detected and the use of the information processing apparatus by the target user based on the old authority information is restricted in accordance with a detection result.
