PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for preventing missing of image data due to insufficient toner by modifying image making colors of image data of a real document. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a plurality of optical writing control parts 234Y, M, C, K for controlling optical writing of the image data to photoreceptors 7Y, M, C, K by being provided on each of Y, M, C, K; a main control part 210 for selecting the image making colors different from image making colors of input image data; and a change control part 232 for changing connection of the input image data to the optical writing control parts 234Y, M, C, K corresponding to the image making colors selected in the main control part 210.
