PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming controller and a control method, which extend conventional make-up functions, remove media (paper media) restriction, such as, an area-specifying sheet, and perform flexible and various document creation and document editing in image forming (stencil printing). SOLUTION: The image forming controller 110 has an image reader 200 which reads documents, and an image forming part 100 which performs image forming, based on the read image data, image data stored in a storage medium 150 inside of the controller body or image data inputted from an information processor outside of the controller via a network. The image forming controller 110 performs a specifying operation for each document page through means of a place function which arranges specified characters and images at specified positions in a document, and a replace function which replaces characters and images at positions, corresponding to the specified ones in a document with specified characters and images.
