PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of improving reliability of a graph indicating luminance distribution about an image captured by an imaging sensor for an electronic finder that receives subject light through the section of an optical path common with an optical finder. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises an imaging sensor for an electronic finder which captures a live-view image by receiving a subject light image through a section (common section) of an optical path common with the optical path of an optical finder which guides the subject light image through a photographing lens to a finder window, and within the common section, a focal point plate is provided on which a target mark indicative of a distance measuring range or the like is indicated. When displaying a histogram indicative of luminance distribution in live view, a histogram is created by summing up pixel data other than the target mark projected in the live-view image(step ST14).
