PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fit a container lid over a mouth neck part accurately even if a mouth neck part to be covered with the container lid by a container lid tightening head is inclined or even if the center of the opening of the container lid is displaced. SOLUTION: The container lid tightening head 21 of a tightening device is constituted by suspension means 22 fixed to the lower end part of a main shaft 5, and chuck means 23 suspended by the suspension means 22. The chuck means 23 forms a gap between a spline 28a and a spline groove 31a and is thereby freely displaced horizontally relative to the suspension means 22.
