A flow speed measuring device comprises a light oscillating unit, a fixed metal thin film for causing surface plasmon resonance by applying light emitted from the light oscillating unit, a light focusing unit for converting the emitted light into light beams incident at incidence angles and focusing the light beams on focal-line positions arrayed in a line on the metal thin film, a measuring unit where immobilized antigen regions where an antigen is immobilized in the same positions as the focal-line positions and reference regions where the antigen is not immobilized are alternated on the metal film, a light-receiving unit for receiving the reflected lights at the respective incident angles of the incident light beams in the focal-line positions of the output lights produced by surface plasmon resonance caused in the focal-line positions, an SPR angle calculating unit for determining the variations with time of the SPR angles in the immobilized antigen region and the reference region, and a flow speed calculating unit for calculating the flow speed of the sample flowing through a flow cell from the determined variations with time of the SPR angles. |
