A first similarity calculating section (12) calculates a 3D model- based similarity. A second similarity calculating section (13) calculates an appearance-based similarity. A first likelihood calculating section (141) calculates a first likelihood corresponding to the 3D model-based similarity. A second likelihood calculating section (142) calculates a second likelihood corresponding to the appearance-based similarity. An integrated likelihood calculating section (143) calculates an integrated likelihood using the first and second likelihoods. A face posture estimating section (15) estimates the face posture using the integrated likelihood.
