The piece (10) has a tubular shaped connecting piece (12) for inserting into a degassing tube (32). The connecting piece has a coaxial internal thread (14) for receiving a degassing screw (16). The connecting piece has a receiving part (20) for complete receive of a head (18) of the degassing screw. The receiving part is arranged between a discharge opening (22) of the connecting piece and the internal thread. The receiving part has an elongation in an axial direction, which is selected such that the head is completely taken up in a closed position and in an opened position. An independent claim is also included for a cooling system of an automobile.
