<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable efficient character input corresponding to various circumstances. <P>SOLUTION: When a user inputs a character string, a communication terminal displays an input character string in an input character string display area A1, and displays a conversion character string corresponding to the character string as a conversion candidate in a conversion candidate display area A2. Also, attributes related with a position are assigned to the conversion character string. For example, such attributes as "city section" are assigned to "conference", and such attributes as "seashore section" are assigned to "seashore". In displaying the conversion candidate, the communication terminal acquires the position information indicating the position of its own equipment, and specifies the attributes of the position of its own equipment based on the position information. Then, when the conversion character string having the attributes matched with the attributes of the position of its own equipment exists, the communication terminal displays the character string at the higher rank than that of the other character strings.
