<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of inhibiting the generation of a biofilm adjacent a surface, comprising intermittently applying a biofilm inhibitor to a collection of microorganisms having a biofilm generating potential. <P>SOLUTION: The biofilm inhibitor is applied to the collection 1 of the microorganisms by introducing the biofilm inhibitor into a liquid 3 such as water communicating with the collection 1 of the microorganisms. The biofilm inhibitor is formed by mixing in place two kinds of solutions of an oxidation solution, preferably a hypochlorous acid solution, in a reservoir 4, and an amine source solution, preferably an ammonium salt solution, in a reservoir 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
