<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encoder which facilitates high-accuracy positioning and mounting of a rotating pattern part to be fitted to the rotatable part of a base apparatus, and a detector to be fixed to a non-rotatable part of the base apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The encoder 10 is provided with a rotating pattern part 17 having a detecting pattern and fittable to the rotatable part 13 of the base apparatus 11, a detector 40 for detecting the detecting pattern, and a frame 19 to which the detector 40 is fixed and which can be fitted to a non-rotatable part 15 of the base apparatus 11, and can detect relative rotation between the rotatable part 13 and the non-rotatable part 15. The encoder has a pattern-part locking means 45 for locking the pattern part 17 to the frame 19 so that the pattern part 17 and the detector 40 are at predetermined relative detection positions, and the locking means 45 is so configured to be releasable in a state where the pattern part 17 locked by the locking means 45 is coupled coaxially with the rotatable part 13 and the frame 19 is fixed to the non-rotatable part 15. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
