PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relax the feeling of physical disorder of writing developing by accompanying a cushioning action among mechanical pencils each equipped with a rotatively driving mechanism for the writing lead to gradually rotate by taking advantage of the retreating and advancing actions of the writing lead by means of writing pressure (a cushioning action). SOLUTION: This mechanical pencil is equipped with a rotator 6 constituted movably in the direction of rotation and in the direction of the axis in a barrel 1 together with a writing lead holding chuck 4. At one axial edge face and the other axial edge face of the rotator, a first cm surface 6a and a second cm surface 6b are formed and, at the same time, a first fixed cam surface 13a and a second fixed cam surface 14a are incorporated under the condition being arranged on the barrel side so as to respectively stand face to face with the first and the second cam surfaces in order to form the rotatively driving mechanism of the writing lead. Damping effects are given to the cushioning action by writing pressure by means of adhesive grease 19, which is lain between a stopper 16 and torque canceller 17. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
