PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact imaging apparatus capable of actuating a lens at high response while retaining airtightness with the lens. SOLUTION: This imaging apparatus having a drive mechanism for sliding a moving lens 7 in the optical axis direction is characterized by: attaching a sliding drive magnet 18 to the distal end of a drive SMA wire 14 formed of a shape-memory alloy, disposing the drive magnet 18 and a magnetic body movement adjusting lens frame 6, which slides in the optical axis direction with the moving lens 7 held thereto, outside and inside a sliding lens frame 34 which covers the movement adjusting lens frame 6 and guides the sliding of the movement adjusting lens frame 6 respectively, and having a storage magnet 8 and a storage spring 9 which enhance the moving speed of the movement adjusting lens frame 6 moving in the inverse direction to the direction pulled by the drive SMA wire 14.
