The guide module (1) has a drive motor (7a) for driving a spread band (9a) as a linear drive for a guide carriage (2). A lubricant dispenser (20) is provided at a side of the spread band for applying lubricant e.g. lubricating oil or lubricating grease, on edges of the spread band. A feed opening is provided for feeding the lubricant into the lubricant dispenser. A porous mold is arranged in a region of the feed opening and is formed from felt or foamed material. A guide slot surrounds the edges of the spread band on the lubricant dispenser.
