<p>Disclosed are a method of providing an e-book service utilizing text information, and a system therefor. More specifically, there is provided a method of providing an e-book service, which comprises the steps of: monitoring the operation of a virtual printer installed in a user terminal so as to recognize a print job for the virtual printer, generated in response to a PRINT command from a user; generating a printed document image based on the target document of the PRINT command; extracting printed document text information corresponding to text included in the target document of the PRINT command; and transmitting an e-book registration request to an e-book server so as to request registration of an e-book, the said request containing the printed document image and the printed document text information. When this method is employed, the e-book service using the virtual printer installed in the user terminal is provided with accompanying copyable text information, such that the e-book service can be provided more efficiently.</p> |
