PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display having improved contrast and excellent visibility, in the display equipped with a display panel carrying out display by movement of charged particles with a memory property. SOLUTION: The display 1 includes a display panel 50 having charged particles 63 sealed between a pair of substrates having electrodes on opposing faces, and segment drivers 10a to 10h receiving input display data and outputting driving voltages SEGV to electrodes SEG of the display panel 50. The driving voltages SEGV output by the segment drivers include a plurality of display inversion pulses P10a, P10c and P11a and P11c based on the display data and break periods P10b and P11b for separating the display inversion pulses.
