<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery with high safety in over-charge, and having little self discharge. <P>SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a positive electrode having a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode having a negative electrode active material, and a nonaqueous electrolyte containing a nonaqueous solvent and an electrolyte salt. The nonaqueous solvent contains a third class carboxylate as expressed by a chemical formula 1 (R1-R4 shows each independently alkyl group of carbon number 4 or less (may be branched)) 20-80 volume% at a condition of 25°C and one atmospheric pressure, and the nonaqueous electrolyte contains an alkyl-benzene compound and/or a halide benzene compound. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
