<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device free to rapidly develop, small in size and light in weight. <P>SOLUTION: This airbag device 10 is furnished with an airbag 20, a gas generator 15 to blow out gas in the airbag 20, a detection means to detect collision and a control means to actuate the gas generator 15 by a signal from the detection means and expands the airbag 20 arranged along a front pillar 2 on the outside of a vehicle 1. The airbag 20 is formed in a roughly U letter shape having a first main expansion part 20a<SB>1</SB>and second main expansion parts 20a<SB>2</SB>respectively extending from both ends of the first main expansion part 20a<SB>1</SB>, stored in a roughly U letter shape state and developed in a roughly U letter shape. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
