PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology facilitating update of a folder by permitting a user to refer to hierarchical information. SOLUTION: This folder storage device 1 has a folder addition part 13, a normal hierarchical information creation part 14, and an easy hierarchical information creation part 15. The folder addition part 13 receives a folder addition request from the user. The normal hierarchical information creation part 14 creates normal hierarchical information showing a hierarchical position of each folder and a path to which each folder is related. The easy hierarchical information creation part 15 creates easy hierarchical information showing the hierarchical position of each folder without showing the path to which each folder is related. The user determines the folder under which the folder is updated by referring to the easy hierarchical information without referring to the normal hierarchical information.
