<p>This invention provides a process for producing a plasma display panel (1), comprising superimposing a front substrate structure (11) and a back substrate structure (12) on top of each other to assembly the plasma display panel (1). In this production process, a P particle enhancing function layer (16) having the function of increasing priming particles (electrons) within a discharge space (24) is selectively formed on the surface of a protective layer (18) in the front substrate structure (11). A slurry of crystal particles of MgO and the like dispersed therein is coated on the surface of the protective layer (18). Light is applied to the front substrate structure (11) to selectively heat a Y bus electrode (15b) in the front substrate structure (11), and, in this state, slurry is evaporated. The crystal particles dispersed in the slurry can automatically gather in a region overlapped with the Y bus electrode (15b) to cause aggregation to selectively form the P particle enhancing function layer (16). Accordingly, discharge delay during address discharge can be improved, and, at the same time, a lowering in luminescence efficiency can be suppressed.</p> |
