[Classes 34 (ii) and 64 (i)] A heating unit for drying ovens 1 comprises a tubular tapered air heating chamber 9 through which extends a tubular combustion chamber 2 exhausting into the atmosphere at one end, a fuel supply pipe 4 and burner 3 at the other end, the chamber 9 having a row of peripheral upwardly inclined air outlets 10. Air is drawn from the opposite side of the ovens into a tubular tapering air chamber 11 with upwardly extending suction nozzles 12 by a fan 14 leading the air through ducts 13, 15 to the heating chamber 9, preferably with admixture of fresh air through a duct 16. Gases of combustion are withdrawn from the tube 5 by an air jet 8 projecting into a tube 6. Air may be led from the fan 14 to a tube with a valve for combustion at the burner 3 in a chamber at the end of the tube 2.</p> |
