<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the fluctuation of breadth of sheet in the hot continuous rolling work, by obtaining the variation of the yield stress of the rolled material from the temperature fluctuation in the rolled material and the fluctuation of rolling speed, and by correcting the tension so as to make constant the ratio of this variation to the tension of the rolled material. CONSTITUTION:The sheet-temperature-meter 10 is installed between the first and the second stands, and the sheet-speed-meter 11 is installed in the first stand. The signals from the sheet-temperature-meter 10 and the sheet-speed-meter 11, and the signal for the settled tension value, are inputted to the tension-arithmetic-unit 12 on purpose to perform an operation for comparison, and to calculate the yield stress of the rolled material suitable for the temperature fluctuation and the speed fluctuation. The corrected tension value is supplied to the looper controller 13 so as to hold constant the ratio of the tension to the yield stress of the sheet; the tension of the sheet is changed by controlling the looper driver 14; hereby, the fluctuation of breadth of sheet is held constant. According to this method, the optimum tension is given to the rolled material correspondingly to the temperature of rolled material and rolling speed, and the fluctuation of breadth of sheet can be made minimum.</p> |
