A spherical annular seal member 28 includes a spherical annular base member 27 defined by a cylindrical inner surface 23, a partially convex spherical outer surface 24, and large- and small-diameter-side annular end faces 25 and 26 of the partially convex spherical outer surface 24, as well as an expandable annular coating layer 29 formed integrally on the cylindrical inner surface 23 of the spherical annular base member 27. The coating layer 29 consists of a mixture of acid-treated graphite and wax.
