A book spine protector 10 has a first limb 11 for insertion into the back of a book between its spine and cover, and a second orthogonal limb 12 having an elastomeric pad 15 for exerting a pulling finger load directly on the pages of the book. The protector allows a book to be withdrawn from a shelf without risk of damaging the headband. An optional rearwardly extending third limb 13 directly protects the headband from rubbing and soiling. |
