503,011. Filters. EAU ET ASSAINISSEMENT, ANCIENS ETABLISSEMENTS C. GIBAULT, and CHIDAINE, P. E. Aug. 23, 1937, No. 6580/39. Divided out of and addition to 502,962, under which a Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Oct. 20, 1938. [Class 46] In the process of filtering drinking water or waste water, as described in the parent Specification, according to which the water is passed downwards through a bed of absorbent material on a perforated plate below which a reduced pressure is maintained by a suction device, so that air passes from top to bottom through the whole of the bed, the filtering-medium used may be in a finely-divided state, so as to afford a very large surface of contact to the liquid passing through it. The medium may be sand or pulverized coal, charcoal or clinker.
|
