The collector housing (10) comprises a rear wall (12) providing a rectangular base area. A frame (14) is provided for enclosing the rear wall, where the frame consists of a side wall (16) that is made of the hollow profiles. The side walls consist of corner connections (18) connected with each other. The rear wall is hard foam manufactured by inserting foam material in the pre-mounted frame. An independent claim is included for a method for mounting a collector housing for solar collectors.
