A method and a system for selecting a script based on SIP(Session Initialization Protocol) language preference are provided to enable a caller or a receiver to receive an ID of an opposite side through an SIP message in a call, which is represented by a writing script of a preferred language of the opposite side. A preference language is determined from contents of a first field of a received SIP message. A writing script corresponding to the determined preferred language is selected(216). A second SIP message for transferring information, which is represented in the selected writing script in a second field, is transmitted.
