A thermal print is provided to prevent a defect by interference that a heating unit of a thermal head is pressurized, stripe generation or other printing defects. A thermal print comprises a thermal head(5), a mounting member, a platen roller(8) and a foreign material receptacle(66). The thermal head is arranged in the mounting member. The platen roller returns a recording medium to the thermal head while pressurizing. The foreign material receptacle is located at the downstream side of the recording medium sending direction. The foreign material receptacle is retreated from the thermal head mount surface of the mounting member from a nipping area where the thermal head and the platen roller are mounted.
