A digital broadcasting system and a data processing method are provided to receive and process first data type signaling information and second data type signaling information. An SI handler(240) includes an SMT binary parser(241) and an SMT converter(242). An ESG handler(270) includes an SG XML parser(271). A reception system comprises a receiver, a demodulator, a first handler, a second handler, and a third handler. The receiver receives a broadcast signal. The first handler forms an ensemble from an RS frame included in a broadcast signal demodulated by the demodulator. The first handler obtains first signaling information including connection information of each mobile service from the ensemble. The second handler receives second signaling information about each mobile service. The second handler obtains service identification of a second data type from the received second signaling information. The third handler extracts transport stream identifier and a service identifier of a first data type from FIC data and the first signaling information, and converts the extracted identifiers into service identification of a second data type.
