In the case of a strand guiding roller with a continuous central shaft (1) and with at least two roller shells (2a, 2b, 2c), whereby the central shaft is supported by being rotatably mounted in at least three rolling-contact bearings (4), and wherein each roller shell is arranged in a rotationally fixed manner on the central shaft between two rolling-contact bearings, to minimize the internal stresses and to prolong the service life it is proposed that the strand guiding roller is supported with the rolling-contact bearings (4) in a floating manner and allowing axial displacement in fixed bearing housings (8).
