A method for locking a USIM card in a mobile terminal is provided to prevent the USIM(Universal Subscriber ID Module) from insertion into an unauthorized mobile terminal when lock of the USIM card is released. Current time information is received from a mobile terminal equipped with a USIM card(S110). It is checked whether a predetermined obligatory use term is passed based on the current time information and an opening day, which is stored in an opening day field of the USIM card, of the USIM card(S120). When the obligatory use term is passed, the mobile terminal is initialized and a call is normally advanced(S130). When the obligatory use term does not passed, the mobile terminal is controlled by comparing a terminal ID of the mobile terminal with the terminal ID stored in the USIM card(S140).
