An apparatus for storing and dispensing a water dispersible substance, comprises an outer container 2 and an inner container 10; wherein the outer container has an inlet and an outlet 8; the inner container has one or more openings 14 through which water may pass and containing one or more dosage units 18 comprising a water-swellable or water-soluble biopolymer, which biopolymer has encapsulated therein a water dispersible substance; and the outer 2 and inner 10 containers are configured such that in use, when the inner container 10 is disposed inside the outer container 2, water may be passed trough the outer 2 and inner 10 containers to elute the water dispersible substance from the polymer thereby to provide a solution of the substance. The water dispersable substance may be corrosive, such as an acid, alkali or bleach. The inner container 10 may be disposed within a mailing container for transport. |
