A vacuum cleaner convertible between and upright mode and a canister or cylinder mode, comprises a cleaner body 10, to which an extension pipe 40 is connected to via a hose 60. The cleaner body 10 is separable from a nozzle unit 30 and a hose-clamping unit 21, 23 capable of protruding outside the cleaner body 10 or being received within the cleaner body 10 according to the mode of use of the cleaner is provided. The hose-clamping unit 21, 23 maybe pivotable by means of coil springs (figure 5A) or torsion springs (figure 5B) and preferably includes a portion 21, 23 that protrudes outside the cleaner body 10 when the extension pipe 40 is mounted in a stored position on the cleaner body 10. |
