A cogeneration system and a control method thereof are provided to prevent sudden stop of the cogeneration system by providing emergency power when necessary. A cogeneration system comprises cogeneration units(10~18), and an emergency generation unit(30). The power generation units are connected to a load(20) and utility-interactive with commercial electricity, and generates power from the commercial electricity provided through the utility-interaction spot and supplies it to the load. The emergency generation unit detects the power level of the commercial electricity at the utility-interaction spot and supplies emergency power to the cogeneration units based on the detected power level. |
