A program information displaying method and an apparatus thereof are provided to enable a viewer to select contents as easily enjoying a video by supplying program information by reproducing a representative image according to time. A program information displaying apparatus(200) comprises a representative video generator(230), a supplementary information extractor(240), and a program information generator(250). The representative video generator generates at least one representative video by extracting a part of video data of contents. The supplementary information extractor extracts one or more supplementary information, related to the contents, from the contents. The program information generator produces program information.
