A light diffusion plate, a direct backlight device, and a liquid crystal display are provided to enhance efficiency by reducing a thickness of a direct backlight device and improving an energy saving function. A light diffusion plate(30) includes a plurality of X regions in an interval of a(mm) along a short side. The X region has a width of 1.5 to 8mm in a short side direction. The light diffusion plate has a central position D of a width direction. The light diffusion plate has a short width of 0.1xa-0.6xa(mm) on the basis of a position C between the X region and the position D. A Y region is extended along a long side of the light diffusion plate. A Z region is maintained between the X and Y regions. An A-main surface includes an AX region corresponding to the X region, a AY region corresponding to the Y region, and an AZ region corresponding to the Z region. A B-main surface includes a BX region corresponding to the X region, a BY region corresponding to the Y region, and a BZ region corresponding to the Z region. A XAA is formed in the AX region. A YBB is formed in the BY region.
