The device i.e. pallet (2) has a base element with a support for bearing a load, where the base element includes two layers which substantially seals the base element. The thickness of the layers is in the range of 10-100 micrometer, where viscosity of one layer is lower than the viscosity of the other layer. An internal connection element is provided for connecting wooden parts of the base element. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a device such as a pallet or box, for bearing a load.
