A plasma display panel and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to secure a sufficient light emitting region by increasing a distance between sustain electrodes. A plasma display panel includes a front panel(100), a rear panel(200), and a barrier rib(300). The front panel includes a front substrate(110), a sustain electrode(120), and a first dielectric layer(130). The sustain electrode is formed on an inner surface of the front substrate. The sustain electrode includes an X electrode(123) and a Y electrode(121). The first dielectric layer is formed by anodizing a material of the sustain electrode. The rear panel includes a rear substrate(210), an address electrode(220), and a second dielectric layer(230). The address electrode is formed on one surface of the rear substrate. The second dielectric layer covers the address electrode. The barrier rib divides a plurality of discharge cells(310) between the front panel and the rear panel into a fixed pattern.
