[Class 108 (ii)] In vehicle spring-suspensions in which the wheels are independently supported from the frame by links 5, longitudinally arranged with respect to the vehicle and swinging in vertical planes under the action of rubber 2 stressed in shear and rigidly secured between parallel supporting plates 4, 3, the plates 4, 3 are pivoted respectively to the frame and the wheel end of the link, the axis of the pivot 14 being parallel and spaced apart from the link pivot 15 on the frame. As shown, the link is rigid with the stub-axle carrier and the link and the plate 4 are pivoted to a bracket 7 secured to the end of a longitudinal frame member 9. Specification 483,373 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a construction in which the plate 4 is arranged above the plate 3 and on the frame side of the pivot 15 and the plate 3 is pivoted to the frame end of the link, the link being pivoted intermediate of its ends. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. |
