SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SYNCHRONIZING PARENTAL CONTROL SETTINGS

A system and a method for synchronizing parental control settings are provided to enable parents to set a television(TV) receiver so as to block programming having a specific TV parent guideline level class. A display device receives parental control settings from a user(410). A message is generated based on the parental control settings(420). The message is transmitted through an HDMI(High-Definition Multimedia Interface) connection part to a source device(430). Pre-filtered video contents are received through the HDMI connection part from the source device(440). The pre-filtered video contents are processed by the source device by using parental control data from the message.
