A light emitting device, a driving method thereof and a display device are provided to remove a video afterimage and improve contrast and power efficiency. A light emitting device(100) comprises a controller(110), a column driver(112), a scan line, a column line, and a luminous pixel. According to an input video signal, the controller generates a light emission signal. The column driver generates a light emission data signal corresponding to the light emission signal. The scan line delivers a scanning signal. The column line delivers the light emission data signal. The luminous pixel is defined by the plural scan lines and plural column lines. The controller calculates total gradation corresponding to the input video signal of one frame. A load ratio corresponding to the total gradation is computed. A conversion ratio corresponding to the load ratio is computed. According to the conversion ratio, the light emission data signal is increased.
